Data & Compliance Protection Assistant
Hybrid Working (3 days in office)
This is a fantastic opportunity to join the UK Legal and Regulatory Team of a leading international organisation, based near Solihull.
This role is ideal for anyone with a keen interest in the regulatory or compliance sector as the role offers progression, or a Law graduate who is keen not to pursue the lawyer route.
Reporting to the Senior Legal Counsel & Data Protection Officer, you will provide vital support across data protection compliance activities and legal administrative tasks, gaining exposure to a wide range of matters in a collaborative and professional environment.
Key Responsibilities will include:
- Data Protection Compliance
- Processing Data Subject Access Requests (DSARs) in line with UK data protection laws.
- Assisting with reviewing and responding to data protection–related complaints.
- Supporting the DPO on routine audits (data processors, information assets, cookies, international transfers).
- Drafting and reviewing basic data protection policies and procedures under supervision.
- Assisting with the implementation of Data Retention Policies.
- Carrying out ad-hoc research into data protection matters.
- Monitoring updates to UK data protection regulation, ICO guidance and enforcement activity.
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date team documentation.
- Providing day-to-day administrative support to the UK Legal Team.
- Supporting with regulatory reporting and invoice processing.
- Liaising with central functions across the business.
Applicants must be educated to degree level or equivalent with a passion for this area and some supporting or relevant experience.
