A prominent tech specialist is looking to expand its UK reach with a driven Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) Strategic Business Development Specialist to support their Manchester growth plans.In this proactive and high-impact role, you will be the first point of contact in their Mergers and acquisition process, identifying, initiating, and building relationships with potential software business acquisition targets. Working closely with the Strategic and Corporate Development Director and their international M&A colleagues, you will map and analyse the UK & Ireland software sector, engage experienced entrepreneurs, and help drive long-term growth pipeline.Key ResponsibilitiesGrow the prospect database by identifying v software businesses meeting their acquisition criteria across the UK & Ireland.Initiate outbound prospecting (calls, video, emails, and social) to engage and qualify potential target companies.Attend trade shows and industry events to make new contacts and nurture relationships.Utilise AI, marketing, and CRM intelligence to build and maintain key stakeholder networks.Timely follow-up on all outbound and inbound M&A activities.Conduct first-line interactions (calls, video, face-to-face) to qualify and engage prospective targets at founder/director level.Diligently document meetings and manage Salesforce CRM records.Collaborate in a high-performing M&A team in Birmingham, working closely with global colleagues.Applicants will haveBachelor\’s or master’s degree in business, economics, accounting, sales, or marketing preferred.Previous deal origination, business development, or B2B sales ideally in tech, finance, or related fields.Self-motivation, goal-orientation and a proactive approachExceptional conversational and presentation skills; at ease with senior executives and entrepreneurs.Strong commercial acumen and an entrepreneurial approach.Excellent online research skills; keen to use data, AI, and CRM tools.Katie Bard is acting as an agency and is an equal opportunities employer.
