We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Advisor. This role plays a vital part in ensuring employees and pensioners are paid accurately and on time, while maintaining compliance with statutory requirements and internal policies. You will be working in a fast-paced environment, supporting both payroll and pensions processes and delivering a high-quality, customer-focused service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collate, verify, and maintain employee and pension data across relevant systems, ensuring accuracy and timely payroll processing
  • Process payroll and pensions activities in line with service standards, legislation, and company policies
  • Handle and resolve payroll and pensions queries from employees, pensioners, and third parties, escalating where appropriate
  • Administer and monitor payroll and pensions documentation to ensure processes are completed within agreed timelines
  • Support compliance by adhering to HMRC and statutory requirements, ensuring all procedures are followed correctly
  • Identify opportunities to improve payroll and pensions processes, particularly in response to legislative or policy changes
  • Assist in implementing system or process updates to maintain efficiency and compliance

Skills & Experience:

  • Previous experience in a payroll or payroll & pensions role
  • Strong working knowledge of payroll processes and statutory requirements
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including functions such as VLOOKUP
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to manage high volumes of work and meet deadlines
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills
  • Customer-focused approach with the ability to handle sensitive information confidentially
