My client is seeking to employ a permanent Manufacturing Shift Manager. This role is Monday to Thursday from 2.00 pm until midnight. It is essential that you have IOSH Managing Safely and a clean DBS and traceable work history. You will be an experienced manufacturing shift manager who is a proactive leader. You will be developing a team of 15 colleagues on their busy evening shift. My client is looking for a confident, people-focused leader with strong operational capability and a continuous improvement mindset.
Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for driving performance; maintaining high safety and quality standards; supporting continuous improvement; and leading the team through operational and cultural change. Ideally, you will have experience of working within a pack-assembly manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead, motivate, and develop a team of 15 production colleagues
- Oversee all shift manufacturing operations including chemical blending, filling, assembly, and packing
- Drive compliance with health & safety standards and ensure safe working practices
- Apply Lean and Continuous Improvement tools to streamline workflows and boost efficiency
- Manage and support change initiatives, ensuring clear communication and team engagement
- Conduct and oversee risk assessments, ensuring hazards are identified and mitigated
- Produce clear, accurate, and professional reports for operational leadership
- Monitor KPIs, resolve performance issues, and support root-cause analysis
- Ensure smooth cross-shift communication and seamless handovers
- Maintain accurate documentation, audit compliance, and shift records
