My client is seeking to appoint a full time Assistant Finance Business Partner for their thriving and busy transport/logistics business. You will be a part-qualified accountant of a recognised body with strong communication skills. You will demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of Microsoft Excel and have the ability to build financial files from scratch, guided by the FBP.
As a part qualified accountant it is essential that you have great attention to detail and the ability to work to tight deadlines, seeking support where necessary. You will support the FBP in completion of month end accounts for the Warehouses, including all journal postings. You will support the completion of warehouse quarterly forecast and the annual budget setting process.
This is a varied role where you will be completing weekly revenue reporting; data gathering to fully understand the drivers of performance; gathering data to track key warehouse initiatives; continued development of processes and systems to ensure the most efficient and effective ways of working.
You will assist the FBP in completion of the Transport month end P&L, posting accruals and prepayment; completing the new weekly Transport KPI report which tracks costs to a vehicle level. You will liaise with the transport operational team to gather explanation and understanding of the numbers; gather information to enable accurate completion of the transport quarterly financial forecast and annual budget process.
Responsibilities
- Accounts preparation
- Posting transport month end accrual and prepayment
- Completion of transport balance sheet reconciliations
- Support FBP in gathering insight and understanding for the warehouse teams on the drivers of the month end numbers
- Prepare ad-hoc data analysis as required to provide a detailed understanding of the different warehouse locations financial performance
- Support FBP in completion of month end reporting requirements
- Provision of data for the annual audit process
- Support completion of the Warehouse P&Ls forecast by month, on a quarterly basis
- Support completion of the financial full year budget, by month for all warehouses
- Loading of financial forecast and budget into Sage X3
- Support provision of the narrative and explanation behind the forecast and budget numbers
- Complete weekly revenue report
- Support FBP in providing deep dive analysis as required on warehouse performance
- Work with warehouse teams and provide them with support to understand their financial numbers
- Provision of data and upload of Group finance information requests relating to the warehouses
- Data gathering to enable the tracking of key warehouse initiatives
