SSA are currently recruiting for an established construction and civil engineering company as they are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Site Engineer to support their work on Rail and Roadworks. You will play a key role in setting out, surveying, and ensuring that works are carried out to specification, safely and efficiently. This role is critical in maintaining quality, progress, and compliance across the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Setting out and surveying works in accordance with project specifications
- Assisting with the coordination and supervision of subcontractors
- Ensuring accurate record-keeping and reporting of site activities
- Liaising with the design team to resolve technical issues
- Assisting with method statements, risk assessments, and quality documentation
- Ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations
- Monitoring materials, quantities, and site progress
Requirements:
- Degree or HNC/HND in Civil Engineering or related discipline
- Minimum 2+ years\’ experience in a Site Engineering role (civils preferred)
- Proficient in setting out using total stations, GPS, and AutoCAD
- Good understanding of civil engineering techniques and standards
- CSCS Card (essential); SMSTS or SSSTS (desirable)
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
