A lovely, discreet and family-oriented family based in St John’s Wood, NW8, are looking for an experienced, energetic and highly capable Live-In Housekeeper/Cook to join their well-run household. The family are looking for someone who is confident working to a very high standard, has excellent attention to detail and is able to use their own initiative.

The role is approximately 50% housekeeping and 50% cooking, with responsibility for preparing healthy, fresh and varied meals for the family and occasionally for dinner guests and small dinner parties. The successful candidate should be a confident cook who is comfortable with menu planning and creating nutritious meals rather than simply following recipes. Previous experience working in a HNW household is preferred.

You will work alongside the family’s existing Housekeeper/Nanny and long-standing Driver, helping with the smooth running of the household and occasionally supervising the children in the evenings; the children are aged 10, 12 and 14, so this is very much supervision rather than traditional babysitting. The family also have a friendly Cavapoo, so you must be pet-friendly.

The family travel frequently, particularly during school holidays, and it is essential that the candidate is happy to travel with them to their home in the Hamptons, US, during July and August, as well as for approximately 1–2 weeks at other times of the year.

Days off are normally Friday and Saturday, although these can be flexible when the family are away during school holidays, with working days potentially being Monday to Friday.

The ideal candidate will be discreet, trustworthy, flexible and proactive and genuinely enjoy working as part of a household team.

Working days: 5 days - Sunday to Thursday with a Friday and Saturday off. During school holiday the family are flexible for Monday to Friday.

Hours: Up to 45 hours per week

Salary: £45–£50k gross per annum, depending on experience.
