We are seeking an exceptional Temporary House Manager with a strong background in luxury hospitality to manage the Lodge on a prestigious private shooting estate in the North of England during the peak shooting season. This is a hands-on, client-facing role requiring impeccable standards, discretion and a calm, professional approach in a high-pressure, high-expectation environment.
As House Manager, you will be fully responsible for the smooth day-to-day running of the Lodge, acting as the main point of contact for the Principal and all guests. You will lead the domestic team, coordinate closely with the catering operation and ensure that the highest levels of service and presentation are maintained at all times.
Key Responsibilities
- Acting as the primary liaison for the Principal and guests, ensuring a seamless and personalised experience
- Managing all housekeeping and domestic staff, including scheduling, standards, and performance
- Working closely with an experienced catering team (3 chefs and front-of-house staff with Michelin-level experience) to deliver exceptional service
- Overseeing service delivery during shooting days and guest stays
- Overseeing service delivery to the Principal and family on non-shooting days
- Maintaining the highest standards of luxury, cleanliness, organisation and discretion
- Anticipating guest needs and resolving issues swiftly and professionally
The Ideal Candidate
- Proven experience in luxury hospitality, private households, estates, or high-end chalets/yachts
- Strong leadership and staff management skills
- Exceptional attention to detail and service standards
- Confident, polished and professional communicator
- Calm under pressure with a proactive, solutions-focused mindset
- Flexible and available for the full contract period (Mid July–Mid October)
