We are looking for a Digital Marketing Volunteer to help grow our online presence and reach more people. You will create social content, support website updates, and design campaigns, building real experience at a Battersea charity with over 100 years of community impact.
Digital communications is a growing priority for KLS, but it is an area where we currently have limited dedicated capacity. This volunteer will directly support our CEO in growing our online presence and ensuring the people who need our services, and the supporters who fund them, can see the difference we make. In practical terms, that means more consistent content, better engagement across our channels, and stronger visibility for our campaigns. For a small charity like ours, that translates directly into greater reach, more supporters, and a stronger connection with the community we serve in Battersea.
What are we looking for?
- Someone creative, organised, and comfortable working independently, with a genuine interest in community-focused work.
Essential Skills and Experience
- Strong written communication skills with attention to tone and audience.
- Good working knowledge of social media platforms including Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn.
- Familiarity with digital tools such as Canva, email platforms, or website editors.
- Good organisational skills and ability to manage time effectively.
- Creativity and willingness to contribute ideas.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative.
- Basic knowledge of analytics tools such as Meta Insights or Google Analytics.
- Graphic design or content creation skills including photo or video editing.
- Previous experience managing social media accounts or websites.
You do not need a professional background in marketing. What matters most to us is that you are reliable, enthusiastic, and keen to develop your skills while contributing to something meaningful.
What will you be doing?
- Location: Hybrid working - remote and at Katherine Low Settlement, 108 Battersea High St, SW11 3HP.
- Hours: 5 hours per week (flexibility around school holidays).
- Reporting to Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
- Contract: Volunteer (unpaid).
The volunteer will work closely with our CEO to support digital communications across KLS, helping us reach wider audiences and ensure our online presence reflects the quality and impact of our work.
Key responsibilities
- Planning, creating, and scheduling content across social media channels including Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn.
- Supporting the management of social media accounts, including engaging with comments and messages where appropriate.
- Assisting with website updates to ensure information is current and accessible.
- Helping design and draft digital campaigns to promote services, events, and fundraising activities.
- Ensuring all communications reflect the charity's values, tone, and brand.
