Katharine Lady Berkeley's School seeks two SEMH Teaching Assistants to support students with complex emotional and behavioural needs.
Responsibilities
- Build trusting relationships and provide emotional support to students.
- Deliver targeted interventions and help students access the curriculum.
- Create a calm, structured environment in the regulation, reflection, and reintegration rooms.
- Assist with de-escalation and provide support for children when needed.
- Work across the hub supporting students who need to regulate emotions, reflect on behaviour, and reintegrate back into classroom settings.
- Supervise children in line with school policies and guidelines.
- Manage time effectively with minimal supervision.
Qualifications
- Basic level of education to support young people in their studies.
- Experience working with young people; childcare or educational qualifications advantageous.
- Experience in intervention teaching preferred.
- Excellent communication and team working skills, enthusiasm, and genuine interest in the wellbeing of young people.
- Ability to demonstrate transferable skills or experience.
Working Conditions
- Term‑time only, 27.5 hours per week, Monday‑Friday 8:20 am to 2:50 pm with a 60‑minute unpaid break.
- Salary: pro‑rated £17,489‑£18,358 per annum (NJC Points 11‑14 equate to £28,142‑£29,540 full‑time equivalent).
