The Indirect Tax Advisory team is central to delivering high-quality VAT guidance across the business. You’ll work closely with operational and finance teams, influencing decision-making on everything from new product offerings to complex cross-border transactions. This role offers a strong blend of advisory, business partnering, and process improvement—ideal for someone who enjoys working closely with stakeholders and driving real change.
Key Responsibilities
- Advisory & Business Partnering
- Provide practical, timely VAT advice to stakeholders across finance and operational teams
- Support business initiatives, projects, and transactions to ensure correct VAT treatment
- Act as a key point of contact for VAT-related queries across the organisation
- Controls, Risk & Process Improvement
- Review and enhance VAT controls, processes, and documentation
- Identify and implement opportunities for system and process improvements
- Contribute to VAT considerations in finance system and process changes
- Compliance & Stakeholder Support
- Support the Head of Indirect Tax with HMRC enquiries and audits
- Assist with VAT return reviews and compliance activities where required
- Deliver VAT training and guidance to non-tax teams (AP, Sales, Finance Ops)
- Team Contribution
- Mentor junior team members, providing guidance and reviewing work where appropriate
About You
- Significant UK VAT experience gained in practice or industry
- Strong working knowledge of UK VAT legislation, accounting processes, and reporting
- Professionally qualified (ACCA / ACA / ATT or equivalent)
- Experience supporting system changes or process improvement initiatives
- Exposure to advisory work, particularly on transactions or cross-functional projects
