We are looking for an inspiring Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist to help elevate our service to the next level within the GWH Integrated Front Door Therapy Team. Joining our team means becoming part of a high‑performing, rapidly evolving service at the forefront of acute and emergency care. Our therapists deliver fast, effective assessments and enable safe, timely discharges across multiple Front Door units, impacting patient flow across the entire hospital. You will work in a state‑of‑the‑art, purpose‑built environment designed to support innovation, collaborative working, and exceptional patient outcomes.
Main Duties
- As Team Lead, you will guide and inspire a talented, supportive group of Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, and Assistants.
- You will be central to driving continued excellence and visibility for the therapy service.
- You will benefit from strong professional support from our Clinical Specialist OTs and Physios, alongside our experienced Band 8 Acute Therapy Leads, ensuring you have the mentorship, resources, and strategic backing needed to shape and grow the service.
Job Responsibilities
- Manage the 7‑day Front Door Therapy Team providing services to the Emergency Department, Acute Assessment Unit (LAMU), Short Stay Units and any other admission unit within GWH.
- Serve as a role model for the Trust core values of Service, Teamwork, Ambition and Respect.
- Provide clinical and professional leadership of staff within the team, ensuring safe and effective delivery of therapy and discharge services at the Front Door.
- Promote collaborative working with other Front Door staff and external partners, encouraging admission avoidance and early discharge planning to meet Trust and National targets.
Person Specification
Education
- Essential – HCPC Registered
- Desirable – Management Qualification (Certificate or Diploma), Management training courses
Experience
- Essential – Managing a team, Operational management, Significant clinical experience in discharge planning and admission avoidance, Managing conflict
- Desirable – Service review and change management, Recruitment process, Managing a Budget, Complex discharge planning
