We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst with a strong background in payments systems and a deep understanding of how payments work across various platforms and technologies. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of analyzing, designing, and improving payment workflows, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring that our payment solutions meet business needs and regulatory standards. This role requires a combination of analytical skills, technical knowledge, and business acumen to drive payment-related projects and support the development of efficient, scalable, and user-friendly payment solutions. Key Responsibilities Requirements Gathering and Analysis Collaborate with stakeholders to gather, document, and analyze business requirements related to payment systems and processes. Identify pain points, inefficiencies, and opportunities for optimization in existing payment workflows. Translate business needs into functional and technical requirements, ensuring clarity and feasibility for development teams. Payment Systems Expertise Analyze and document payment flows, including authorization, settlement, reconciliation, chargebacks, and refunds. Evaluate and recommend payment gateways, processors, and third-party providers based on business needs. Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices in the payments ecosystem (e.g., PSD2, PCI DSS, open banking). Project Coordination Act as a liaison between business stakeholders, product managers, developers, and QA teams to ensure alignment on payment-related projects. Define and prioritize user stories, use cases, and acceptance criteria for payment system features. Support project managers in creating timelines, milestones, and deliverables for payment-focused initiatives. Process Improvement Analyze end-to-end payment processes to identify inefficiencies, risks, and bottlenecks. Design and propose improvements to streamline payment operations, enhance user experiences, and reduce costs. Collaborate with the operations team to ensure smooth implementation of process changes and monitor their impact. Testing and Validation Work with QA teams to define test plans, scenarios, and scripts for payment functionality. Validate that payment systems and processes meet business requirements, technical specifications, and compliance standards. Monitor and report on the performance of payment solutions post-implementation, ensuring continuous improvement. Documentation and Reporting Create detailed documentation, including process flows, system integrations, and data mappings for payment systems. Generate reports and dashboards to provide insights into payment performance, trends, and KPIs. Present findings and recommendations to stakeholders, including senior management and external partners. Qualifications and Skills Educational Background Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Finance, or a related field. Certifications in business analysis (e.g., CBAP, CCBA) or project management (e.g., PMP, Scrum) are a plus. Experience 3–5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, with significant exposure to payment systems or the FinTech industry. Demonstrated understanding of how payment systems work, including card-based payments, ACH, real-time payments, digital wallets, and international transactions. Hands-on experience working with payment gateways, processors, or payment APIs. Technical Skills Familiarity with payment processing systems, APIs, and data formats such as ISO 8583, ISO 20022, and JSON. Understanding of integration workflows between payment providers, banking systems, and e-commerce platforms. Proficiency in tools such as JIRA, Confluence, SQL, and visualization tools like Tableau or Power BI. Soft Skills Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail. Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of regulatory frameworks such as PCI DSS, PSD2, and AML compliance. Experience in Agile or Scrum environments.
