Role Overview

We are looking for a hands-on Workshop Simulator Mechanic to build, prepare, and maintain our professional-grade simulators. This role sits at the core of KartSim’s hardware operations—assembling simulators, preparing customer orders, supporting installs, and ensuring every unit leaving our workshop meets the highest standard. You’ll be working on mechanical systems, motion platforms, electronics, and simulator setups, while also supporting customers and maintaining a clean, organised workshop environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assemble KartSim simulators (frames, seating systems, displays, motion systems)
  • Install and configure hardware components including PCs, monitors, and peripherals
  • Build and wire motion systems and vibration systems (e.g. actuators, Buttkickers)
  • Prepare simulators for shipment and installation
  • Perform quality control checks on all outgoing systems
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical and hardware faults
  • Provide technical support to customers (remote and on-site when required)
  • Support simulator installations at customer sites (UK & occasional international travel)
  • Maintain workshop cleanliness, organisation, and tool management
  • Ensure all workspaces are kept tidy and safe at all times
  • Assist with product improvements and prototype builds

Required Skills & Experience

  • Strong hands-on mechanical skills (assembly, tools, workshop work)
  • Experience with electronics and PC hardware
  • Ability to follow technical build processes and documentation
  • Problem-solving mindset with attention to detail
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced workshop environment
  • Good communication skills for customer support
  • Full UK driving licence

Desirable Skills

  • Experience with motion systems, actuators, or sim racing hardware
  • Basic understanding of networking and software setup
  • Motorsport or karting knowledge
  • Experience with fabrication or custom builds
  • Electrical wiring experience

What We’re Looking For

  • Practical, hands-on individual who enjoys building things
  • High standards—everything must leave the workshop perfect
  • Someone reliable who takes ownership of their work
  • A team player who can support installs, customers, and workshop operations

Why Join KartSim
