The Role:
This is a senior hands-on position responsible for overseeing workshop operations while personally building, configuring and delivering world-class karting simulators. You will manage simulator builds from component level through to final installation, ensuring every unit meets KartSim’s strict performance and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assemble hardware across the KartSim Esports, Pro and Motion simulator range
- Manage builds from start to completion, ensuring timelines are met
- Configure and calibrate sensors and motion systems
- Install and configure bespoke high-performance PCs
- Install and configure simulation software and required drivers
- Conduct full system testing and quality control prior to dispatch
- Oversee day-to-day workshop operations
- Maintain clean, organised and safe working environment
- Manage stock levels and component inventory
- Install simulators at client locations (UK & occasional international travel)
- Provide technical support and remote troubleshooting
- Assist with product demonstrations and development meetings
Candidate Profile Essential Skills & Experience:
- Mechanical experience within motorsport
- Confident using motorsport workshop tools
- Strong understanding of mechanical assembly processes
- Good knowledge of PC hardware and Windows-based systems
- Experience installing and configuring software
- UK driving licence
Highly Desirable:
- Experience as a kart mechanic
- Fabrication experience (metal, wood, plastics)
- Electrical wiring or sensor integration experience
- Understanding of simulation platforms (rFactor 2 advantageous)
- Passion for karting and driver development
