We are working on behalf of a respected Birmingham-based charity to recruit a Housing & Support Officer for a permanent, full-time position. Location: Various schemes across the outskirts of Birmingham
Hours: 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Salary: £28,000 – £30,000 per annum (depending on experience)
Requirements:
- Clean driving licence and access to own vehicle
- Compliance: Enhanced DBS required
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage day-to-day housing operations including tenancy sign-ups, terminations, and tenancy sustainment
- Respond promptly to rent arrears and maintain accurate records
- Collaborate with support staff to help residents sustain their tenancies
- Prepare legal notices and documentation in line with procedures
- Manage occupancy levels, oversee voids, and coordinate refurbishments
- Liaise with contractors and internal teams to ensure timely and compliant maintenance
- Support Asset colleagues with administration, documentation, and reporting
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and presentation across all schemes
Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Experience in housing management or property maintenance (charity/social housing sector preferred)
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and service improvement
- Confidence dealing with tenancy-related issues and legal documentation
- Ability to work independently across multiple sites
