We are currently recruiting for an experienced Housing Officer to join a well-established housing provider based in Derbyshire on an initial 3-month temporary contract. This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive and customer-focused Housing Officer looking for a hybrid role with a supportive team environment and the chance to make an immediate impact within social housing services.
The Role
As a Housing Officer, you will be responsible for delivering a high-quality housing management service across a designated patch of properties. You will work closely with tenants, internal teams, and external agencies to ensure communities are safe, well-managed, and residents are fully supported.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing a caseload of tenancy and neighbourhood management issues
- Conducting tenancy audits, estate inspections, and property visits
- Handling anti-social behaviour (ASB) cases and neighbour disputes
- Supporting tenancy sustainment and vulnerable tenants
- Managing low-level rent arrears and tenancy breaches
- Working closely with safeguarding, repairs, and income teams
- Delivering excellent customer service and housing advice
- Ensuring accurate case management and record keeping
Requirements
- Previous experience working as a Housing Officer, Tenancy Officer, Neighbourhood Officer, or similar within social housing, local authority, or housing association settings
- Strong knowledge of housing management and tenancy legislation
- Experience managing ASB and tenancy-related casework
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to manage a busy and varied workload independently
- Full UK driving licence preferred
