We are working with a valued client to recruit a dedicated Sheltered Housing Officer for a 3‑month temporary assignment. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference within a well‑respected Housing team.
About the Role
As a Sheltered Housing Officer, you will take responsibility for the day‑to‑day running of high‑quality sheltered housing schemes, ensuring the buildings remain safe, secure, and well‑maintained. You’ll play a key role in supporting residents to live independently, promoting wellbeing, and reducing loneliness through proactive engagement and partnership working.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver housing management and support services that help residents sustain their tenancy and access wellbeing services.
- Assist with creating support plans focused on reducing isolation and enhancing quality of life.
- Work closely with adult social care, healthcare providers, voluntary organisations, and other partners to ensure resident safety.
- Organise community activities and resident meetings to increase engagement and build community spirit.
- Maximise rent and service charge income through early intervention on arrears.
- Empower residents to get involved in shaping and improving the service.
- Carry out health & safety and fire safety checks in accordance with statutory landlord requirements.
- Manage the sign‑up process for new tenants and support with pre‑void inspections.
- Handle low‑level ASB issues and escalate when required.
About You
Essential Experience
- Previous experience delivering housing management and support services to older people.
- Experience managing health & safety and fire safety within a supported housing setting.
- Confident handling emergencies and managing conflict sensitively and effectively.
- Access to transport and a valid UK driving licence.
