Working Hours & Shift Pattern
Full-time hours worked across the nursery’s opening times Monday to Friday. Shifts vary and are shared in advance to support work-life balance, with breaks included. Some flexibility may be available depending on the setting.
The Role
We’re looking for a warm, enthusiastic Nursery Practitioner to join a vibrant early years nursery. This child-centred setting values imaginative play, strong family partnerships, and meaningful learning experiences—both indoors and out. If you believe children learn best through play (and you don’t mind a little mud), you’ll fit right in.
Key Responsibilities
- Support children aged 6 months to 5 years with learning, development and daily routines
- Create a safe, stimulating environment where every child feels secure and valued
- Deliver engaging, play-based activities indoors and outdoors, including nature-based learning
- Promote outdoor exploration, including forest school and farm-style experiences
- Observe, assess and track children’s progress against key milestones
- Plan and contribute to activities in line with the EYFS framework
- Build strong relationships with families and maintain positive communication
- Maintain accurate records, learning journeys and development documentation
- Follow safeguarding, health & safety, and nursery policies at all times
Requirements
- Level 3+ childcare qualification (Early Years Educator, CACHE, NVQ, or equivalent)
- Right to work in the UK (no sponsorship available)
- Passion for early years education and outdoor learning
- Strong knowledge of EYFS, safeguarding and child development
- Confident supporting babies and young children across a range of ages and stages
- Caring, proactive team player with excellent communication skills
- Comfortable supporting all-weather outdoor play and active learning
- Reliable, professional and committed to high-quality childcare
