Karntek, a well-known fire safety consultancy, is looking for a Passive Fire Surveyor to join our fast-growing team of fire safety surveyors. This role is essential in ensuring the safety and compliance of buildings through effective fire compartmentation surveys and fire door inspections.

The Passive Fire Surveyor will be responsible for conducting detailed surveys of buildings, identifying potential fire risks, and providing expert recommendations to enhance fire safety measures.

Responsibilities:
  • Conducting fire door inspections, compartmentation and other surveys on a mixture of residential buildings and educational premises across London and the Southeast.
  • Understanding fire strategies.
  • Liaising with residents and clients whilst on-site.
  • Identifying breaches in fire compartmentation, including fire doors and assessing existing fire safety measures.
  • Preparing clear, concise reports outlining findings and recommendations for clients.
  • Keeping abreast of current fire safety regulations and industry best practices.
Requirements:
  • Relevant experience in fire safety, building surveying, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in fire door and compartmentation surveying or a similar role.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Field-based role covering the Central and Greater London area with occasional travel to clients further afield.
  • Periodic requirement to travel to head office in Stafford.
  • Prepared and happy to work alone / remote working.
  • Be willing to stay away overnight for jobs which are over 1 ½ hours travel time.
  • Full driver’s license - maximum of 6 penalty points.
  • DBS Enhanced Check required (this is done by Karntek).
  • FDIS training would be advantageous.
  • CSCS Card would be advantageous.
