The Commercial Cleaner is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe and professional working environment for employees, visitors and clients at the Karntek Head Office. This role requires a proactive approach, strong attention to detail and a “can-do” attitude. The ideal candidate is reliable, takes pride in their work and is committed to maintaining high standards across all areas of the workplace.
Suggested hours to be 15 hours per week.
Key Responsibilities:- Cleaning & Workplace Maintenance
- Carry out daily cleaning duties across office areas, meeting rooms, kitchens, washrooms and communal spaces.
- Ensure all workspaces are presented to a high standard, creating a clean and welcoming environment.
- Replenish consumables including soap, hand towels, toilet rolls, tea, coffee and kitchen supplies as required.
- Empty waste bins and ensure waste is disposed of in accordance with company procedures.
- Maintain cleanliness of floors, surfaces, windows and fixtures using appropriate cleaning methods and equipment.
- Identify and report any maintenance issues, damages or health and safety concerns promptly.
- Facilities Support
- Assist in maintaining the overall appearance and functionality of the office and facilities.
- Conduct routine checks of communal areas to ensure they remain clean, organised and fully stocked.
- Liaise with suppliers, contractors or facilities personnel when required.
- Support office moves, room set-ups and workplace preparations for meetings or events (optional depending on your experience).
- Ensure cleaning equipment and supplies are maintained, stored correctly and reordered when necessary.

- Qualifications & Skills
- Previous experience in commercial cleaning, office cleaning, facilities support or a similar role preferred.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain high standards of cleanliness and presentation.
- Good organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
- Ability to work independently and use initiative while also contributing positively within a team environment.
- Reliable, punctual and committed to delivering a consistent and professional service.
- Good communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with colleagues, visitors and contractors.
- Basic understanding of health and safety requirements, including the safe use of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
- Ability to identify maintenance issues, workplace hazards or areas requiring attention and report them appropriately.
- Physically capable of carrying out cleaning duties, including standing, walking, lifting and manual handling tasks.
- Knowledge of COSHH regulations and safe working practices is desirable.
- Experience: Minimum 1–2 years in commercial, office or facilities cleaning preferred.
- Basic proficiency in using cleaning equipment, machinery and workplace communication systems where required.
- 12 days holiday per annum including bank holidays (based on 15 hours per week).
- On site parking.
- Part time role but additional hours may be available for the right candidate.
