The Role:
- Producing and reviewing fire strategies for a wide range of building types and occupancies.
- Conducting and documenting comprehensive fire risk assessments in accordance with relevant legislation and guidance under the BAFE SP205 scheme.
- Supporting the development and review of Building Safety Cases and associated documentation.
- Liaising with fire risk assessors to resolve validation issues and provide technical guidance relating to the BAFE SP205 scheme.
- Providing expert fire engineering and fire safety advice to clients, project teams, contractors, and internal stakeholders.
- Keeping up to date with UK fire safety legislation, British Standards, Approved Documents, and industry best practice.
- Working collaboratively with architects, design teams, contractors, and building managers to develop practical, compliant, and cost-effective fire safety solutions.
- Participating in internal training, mentoring, and knowledge-sharing initiatives to support continuous improvement across the business.
Requirements:
- A Fire Engineering degree or a relevant qualification in Fire Engineering or a related discipline.
- Strong knowledge of UK fire safety legislation, Approved Document B, British Standards, and associated guidance.
- Experience producing fire strategies and undertaking fire engineering assessments.
- Experience carrying out fire risk assessments under the BAFE SP205 scheme is desirable.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- A commitment to Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
- A willingness to travel to client sites across the UK, including occasional overnight stays where required.
