On behalf of my client, we are recruiting for a Children's Support Worker for days and nights to join their organisation within the Reading Area. This is an EBD home. You must have your Diploma Level 3 in Children & Young People Workforce or NVQ equivalent, and previous experience working with young adults with EBD. You must have knowledge of Quality Standards & Regulations and of the Children Act.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the deputy manager in achieving the aims and objectives of the Statement of Purpose and uphold the organisation's mission statement and values.
  • Support and manage the care team to enable them to meet the needs of the children and young people.
  • Undertake direct work with children and young people as appropriate.
  • Ensure each shift is planned and resources allocated.
  • Work in partnership with other professionals to achieve optimum outcomes for young people.
  • Offer supervision and support to carers in line with Quality Standards & Regulations and as directed by the Registered Manager.
  • Promote MDT approach and engage/lead weekly MDT meetings with Clinical and Education services on site.
  • Ensure that each carer is aware of each child's care plan and their responsibilities for its implementation.
  • Attend childcare reviews and planning meetings to provide information and achieve best outcomes for young people.
  • Undertake direct work with young people and act as an appropriate role model.
  • Maintain accurate written records in logs, continuation sheets and files to record information and enable regular monitoring and evaluation to take place.
  • Chair children's meetings and facilitate consultation with young people generally.

Qualifications:

  • Diploma Level 3 in Children & Young People Workforce or NVQ equivalent.
  • Previous experience working with young people with EBD.
  • Knowledge of Quality Standards & Regulations and of the Children Act.
