On behalf of my client we are recruiting for aChildrens Support Workerfor a school within the Norfolk area.My clientsSchool provides flexible day and residential placements for students aged 5 to 19 years with communication and associated difficulties or specific learning difficulties such as dyslexia. Some may be on the autistic spectrum or have anxieties and difficulties that create barriers to learning. Many benefit from the specialist teaching and nurturing environment, having experienced difficulties in a mainstream setting.
You must have good communication both verbal and written. Able to establish effective rapport and communication with others, by demonstrating respect for peopleβs dignity and providing compassionate care. Be able to adapt your communication style to the needs of individuals you are working with. Where necessary develop skills to support individuals through the use of sign and or symbols. Able to work sportivelyas a team member and confidentially when working independently, within a range of settings. Working as part of a team: Collaborates and communicates regularly and effectively with colleagues taking a different approach when useful. Able to work flexibly to accommodate the needs and choices of those using the service.
Hours:Termtime (38 weeks per year). 40 hours per week,
7 day rota include evenings and weekends, working one day per weekend as per the rota, but always getting two consecutive days off per week.
Typical rota:Monday β Friday: 15:00 β 21:00, with 14:00 β 18:00 or 14:00 β 21:00 one day per week. Saturday β Sunday: 08:00 β 17:00 OR 12:00 β 10:00.
Sleep-in 20:00 β 09:00 (Β£65 paid extra)with breakfast duty.
