Who we are: Healthy food, eaten together - that's what we believe in. We know the role that communal eating plays in building a strong team, which is why every day at Karma Cans, we take time to eat lunch together and talk. This is where the best connections and ideas are born. Karma Cans is one of the largest independent corporate catering companies in London. We believe 'the best ideas happen at the table'; therefore, taking the time out of your day to eat as a team is crucial to company success and culture. Started in 2014 by sisters Gini and Eccie Newton, from their home kitchen, cooking and cycling food across London each morning, we now deliver over 1,000 meals daily across the city; catering for incredible clients such as Salesforce, Airbnb, Amazon, Spotify, and many more. Gini and Eccie have built this business from the ground up, creating a good service and a community around the table.
Company Culture: Karma Cans has a strong culture, built on inclusivity and mutual respect. We believe in bringing your whole self to work and letting individuality shine. We work hard, support each other, and have fun! We finish at 4 pm on Friday year-round, and the kitchen makes us lunch every day for us to enjoy together.
Who you are: We're looking for a talented operations manager to join the Karma Cans team. We need a capable, organised, and efficient team member to help our team pack and send out these orders. You'll be a morning person, okay to come in for early starts and capable of handling high pressure situations. We send out thousands of meals a day, co-ordinate events and manage multiple in-house couriers, all within tight windows of time.
The Role: You will be working in a team with an experienced ops manager and three cyclists, and together you will be accountable for the safe delivery of all our orders. This role is fun, active and engaging. The key skills are being fast, clean, organised and calm under pressure. We are looking for someone who is an incredible communicator and who takes the initiative. This is a role that needs high levels of attention to detail, and starts very early in the morning (at about 6 am).
The job involves:
- Labelling and packing orders correctly
- Managing a team of couriers and cyclists
- Accepting and processing orders
- Customer service, speaking to customers to help them understand where their orders are
- Communicating with the kitchen and the sales team about where orders are and what's going on
- General operations
- Cleaning, organising and tidying of the packing space on a daily and weekly basis
