Package: Research, Teaching and Enterprise, grade 7 from £47,389 to £56,535 per annum. Subject to annual pay award. The post is full-time and open-ended.

Overview: We are presenting an opportunity to join the department of Chemical Engineering, within the School of Aeronautical, Automotive, Chemical and Materials Engineering as a Lecturer. The successful candidate will join a dynamic academic team within the department and collaborate across multidisciplinary engineering fields.

Responsibilities:

  • Establish or enhance a strong international research profile.
  • Engage with industry partners and secure research funding.
  • Deliver high-quality, research-informed teaching across both undergraduate and postgraduate Chemical Engineering programmes, particularly in core chemical engineering modules.
  • Supervise research students.

Qualifications / Areas of Expertise Desired: We welcome applications from candidates with expertise in any area of research, particularly in the following fields:

  • Resource recovery and reuse
  • Waste valorisation and upcycling
  • Sustainable material cycles and closed-loop systems
  • Hydrogen production, storage, and utilisation
  • Carbon Capture, Utilisation and Storage (CCUS)
  • Electrochemical systems
  • Green and sustainable production of chemicals, fuels, and pharmaceuticals
  • Process intensification and digital manufacturing
  • Integration of AI, automation, and smart technologies in chemical processes
