We are seeking a dedicated Grounds Maintenance Worker to join our team. The successful candidate will be happy to work on commercial and residential projects in South Liverpool and be responsible for maintaining and enhancing outdoor landscapes, ensuring the grounds are safe, attractive, and well-kept. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a passion for gardening, horticulture, and landscape maintenance to develop their skills in a professional environment.
Duties:
- Mowing lawns and trimming hedges using hand tools and power tools
- Treatment of plants or grass
- Planting, watering, fertilising, and pruning bushes, hedges, shrubs, flowers, and other plants
- Leaf blowing and clearing
- Litter picking
- Maintaining flower beds, lawns, and other landscaped areas to high standards
- Assisting with the installation of new landscaping features and garden structures or planting flowers and other plants
- Using gardening equipment safely and effectively to perform routine maintenance tasks
- Removing debris, litter, and weeds from outdoor areas
- Monitoring plant health and identifying issues related to pests or disease
- Supporting seasonal planting and landscape design projects as required
Skills:
- Proficiency in using hand tools such as shears, spades, rakes, and shovels
- Experience with irrigation systems and their maintenance
- Ability to operate power tools including lawnmowers, trimmers, and leaf blowers
- Growing experience with plants, flowers, trees, or shrubs is desirable
- Knowledge of gardening principles and horticulture practices
- Familiarity with landscape maintenance techniques and safety procedures
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
- Good physical fitness to perform outdoor work in various weather conditions
