About The Role
We are now seeking a highly motivated Accounts Payable Controller to join the Accounts Payable Department and support the team in day‑to‑day activities. The successful candidate will be an excellent communicator, able to work to tight deadlines, and have a willingness to learn. Experience in the manufacturing, construction, portable accommodation, or power generation sectors, and in a high‑volume transaction business, is helpful.
Duties and Responsibilities
- High volume processing of invoices in an accurate and timely manner
- Accurate invoice matching and resolving of queries relating to PO and invoice mismatches
- Monthly supplier statement reconciliations
- Collating weekly payments/BACS lists for payments due to suppliers
- Dealing with telephone enquiries from internal & external contacts such as depots and suppliers
- Accounts Payable month‑end and year‑end processes to support the Management Accounts reporting process
- Assisting with year‑end Accounts Payable reporting for the audit
- Liaising with other teams within the finance function where required
- Any other reasonable ad hoc duties
Required Qualifications
- Experience of working with high volume invoice processing
- Positive and flexible attitude with the ability to act on own initiative
- Experience of working within a large team
- Excellent problem‑solving skills for timely and efficient resolution of invoice queries
- Experience of working well under pressure, prioritising workload, and adhering to strict deadlines
- Basic level of Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, and Outlook
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of the Construction Industry Scheme (would be useful)
- Experience with accounts software packages such as Sage 50 and Sage 200 (would be useful)
- Experience of using MSC RM Rental Management Software (would be ideal but not essential)
