We're looking to appoint 4 suitably qualified and experienced individuals to the role of General Operative (Roofers Mate) to join and enhance our successful and growing Property Services Team, working within our Responsive Repairs Maintenance Team. The role will be based at our properties throughout the Northeast.
About The Role
We're looking for operatives to join the Responsive Repairs North team to support Karbon Homes in delivering a high quality roofing and general repairs service that promotes a strong customer first culture and continuous improvement. The role will have a strong focus on roofing repairs, working alongside qualified roofers and other trade colleagues to deliver safe, effective, and timely work. You'll be responsible for assisting with and carrying out a range of roofing and general maintenance activities in both occupied and empty properties.
- Assisting with roofing repairs, maintenance, and minor installations (e.g., replacing tiles/slates, guttering repairs, clearing blockages, basic flat roof works, repairs to pointing to brickwork, insulation top up and relevel)
- Supporting roofers with access, preparation, and safe working at height
- Undertaking general repairs and maintenance tasks as part of a multi-skilled whole job repair approach
- Ensuring work is completed to a high standard while maintaining excellent customer service
About You
You should have experience in a relevant role (refer to person specification), ideally including experience supporting roofing works or working at height. You must have the practical skills and knowledge needed to carry out roofing and general maintenance tasks safely and to a high standard in domestic and non-domestic premises, both occupied and void. You’ll also have:
- A good understanding of health and safety, particularly relating to working at height
- Strong customer service skills, with the ability to work respectfully in customers' homes
- The ability to work effectively as part of a team and support trade colleagues
- A full UK driving licence, which is essential

Salary: 28,270 per annum
Location: Newburn / Stanley (to be agreed with the successful candidate prior to start date)
The successful applicant will be required to work throughout the North East.
