About The Role

We’re looking for a passionate Employment and Skills Team Manager to manage our Employment and Skills service, helping customers to reach their potential by removing barriers to work, providing tailored employability support and linking with employers and training and education providers to build skills and experience. They will bring a collaborative, inclusive mindset, working confidently with colleagues, partners, and employers across the region to ensure that the Employment and Skills team can link customers to opportunities and deliver meaningful long‑term outcomes. They’ll ensure that services and projects are managed effectively and in line with a range of compliance requirements, and use data to report accurately on the progress and outcomes of cases, ensuring that the service delivers an excellent customer experience and that results are verifiable, accurate and continually improving.

A strong relationship builder, you work collaboratively with colleagues, partners and stakeholders to achieve shared goals and meaningful outcomes. Excellent communication, line management and relationship‑building skills are essential, alongside strong organisational ability and a track record of delivering against targets. Above all, you’ll bring energy, resilience and a commitment to continuous improvement, helping to shape services that support residents to move closer to employment, strengthen financial wellbeing and contribute to thriving communities.

Key Details

  • Employment and Skills Team Manager – Permanent role
  • Salary – £43,315 per annum plus a Karbon car payment of £2,405 per annum
  • Location: Gosforth/Stanley
  • Regular travel will be required
  • 37 hours per week with agile working
