Come and make a difference at Karbon as a Data Protection and Information Management Coordinator. We are seeking an approachable, confident, and resilient professional to join our Data Protection team. You will work collaboratively with colleagues and independently using your initiative to champion data protection awareness and help deliver robust Data Protection and Information Management practices across the Karbon Group. The Data Protection team is information-focused but places the Group's stakeholders at its core. We strive to provide requested information efficiently, manage data breaches with integrity, and deliver expert guidance on all aspects of Data Protection and Information Management whenever needed.
About The Role
Working closely with fellow Coordinators and under the guidance of the Senior Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in delivering a high-quality Data Protection and Information Management service across the Group, ensuring exceptional support for all stakeholders. No two days are the same in Data Protection. It is a fast-paced, dynamic environment with competing priorities and unexpected challenges that will keep you engaged and motivated. On any given day, you could be juggling multiple priorities - responding to information requests, managing data breaches with integrity, and providing expert advice on Data Protection queries - all while ensuring compliance and championing best practice.
About You
- Experienced in working with data/information or in a Data Protection/Information Management role.
- Skilled at managing confidential information with integrity and discretion.
- A strong team player who collaborates effectively and supports others.
- Educated to at least GCSE level (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
- Competent in Microsoft Office applications, especially Word and Excel.
- Able to work independently, use sound judgement, and take ownership of tasks.
- Highly attentive to detail and accuracy in all work.
- Professional and impartial when investigating situations, applying fairness and transparency.
- Capable of managing risks and making balanced decisions.
- Possesses good written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Demonstrates resilience under pressure and adapts to changing priorities.
- Transparent, open, and trustworthy, building strong relationships.

You will join our Data Protection team, overseen by the Senior Data Protection Business Partner, Jill Johnson, and managed by the Senior Data Protection and Information Management Coordinator, Julia Dunn. - Permanent role
- Starting date: early March 2026
- 3 full days, 22.2 hours per week working Monday, Tuesday and Thursday
- Some homeworking and flexible working are available, with an expectation to participate in a rota that includes coverage until 5:00 pm.
- Salary is £31,208 per annum (pro rata)
- Location can be agreed with successful candidate. We have offices at Gosforth, Newburn and Stanley, with some home working/flexible working available.
- Some travel is likely to be required.
