Overview

You will provide an efficient administrative service which will include the maintenance of records on behalf of the team, mail merges, and process payment of invoices and manage general queries relating to invoices. You will be required to deal with general customer enquiries, the allocation, sign up and monitoring of garage sites and enquiries relating to our furniture service. You will also support colleagues with home visits, scheme or estate inspections, anti-social behaviour cases and take part in community events. We are looking to appoint a suitably qualified and experienced individual for the role of Housing Assistant in the General Housing Team. You will be working within the General Housing Team to support the development and delivery of effective and high quality housing services to our customers.

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support including maintenance of records, mail merges, processing invoices and responding to related queries.
  • Handle general customer enquiries, manage allocation, sign up and monitoring of garage sites and enquiries relating to our furniture service.
  • Support colleagues with home visits, scheme or estate inspections, anti-social behaviour cases and participate in community events.
  • Work as part of a team and, where required, exercise initiative and lone working in the community and in tenants\' homes.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to plan and prioritise own workload, often to targets and tight deadlines.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and independently when required.
  • Previous knowledge and experience within a social housing environment, housing legislation and knowledge of welfare reform changes would be an advantage.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes is essential.

Role Details

  • Housing Assistant - Permanent Role
  • Salary: £25,524 per annum plus a Karbon car payment of £2,317 per annum
  • Location: Morpeth
  • Hours: 37 per week with some agile working; regular travel will be required
