As an Area Housing Manager you will take end-to-end accountability for housing and income services, shaping service direction, driving performance, and delivering high‑quality, customer‑focused services across a diverse portfolio. Reporting to the Director of Customer Experience, you will be a key member of the senior leadership team, playing a central role in delivering our strategic ambitions and transforming how we serve our customers and communities.

Key Responsibilities
Leadership & organisational impact
- Lead the development and delivery of housing and income services aligned to organisational strategy
- Shape and embed a high‑performance, customer‑focused culture
- Lead and deliver service transformation and change programmes, particularly in response to customer, regulatory and digital drivers
- Promote a culture of accountability, ownership and continuous improvement
- Contribute to the wider direction of the organisation as part of the senior leadership community
Service ownership & performance
- Hold accountability for:
- Tenancy and estate management
- Income collection and work in partnership with financial inclusion
- Allocations, lettings and voids
- Anti‑social behaviour and community safety
- Drive performance to top quartile / leading standards, using insight, data and customer feedback
- Ensure services are innovative, compliant and continuously improving
External influence & partnerships
- Build strong relationships with local authorities, partners and agencies
- Represent the organisation in strategic forums, including safeguarding and community safety partnerships
- Lead collaborative approaches to delivering sustainable tenancies and communities
Governance, risk & financial accountability
- Ensure robust oversight of risk, compliance and legal activity
- Promote a culture of sound financial management, including income performance and value for money
- Contribute to budget planning and delivery of financial targets
About You
We are looking for a highly capable housing professional who can operate confidently at an organisational leadership level.
- Significant experience leading housing management services within a complex organisation
- A strong track record of delivering through others and leading multi‑layered teams
- Demonstrable experience of driving service improvement, performance and cultural change
- Strong understanding of regulatory, legislative and sector challenges
- Ability to operate effectively across operations and stakeholder environments

- Salary: 58,664 per annum plus a Karbon car payment of 2,405 per annum
- Location: Leeds / York
- Regular travel will be required
- 37 hours per week with agile working
