Come and make a difference at Karbon as a Cloud Infrastructure and Security Analyst. We are looking to appoint a suitably qualified and experienced individual for the role of Cloud Infrastructure & Security Analyst in the Cloud Infrastructure & Security Team. The successful candidate will be part of the Infrastructure and Operations team, responsible for providing second line support to the highest possible standard and acting as a point of escalation from the Service Desk team.

About The Role

The successful candidate will be an integral part of the Infrastructure and Operations team, delivering high-quality second line support and serving as an escalation point for the Service Desk. The role covers a wide range of services - including infrastructure, networking, security, and end user computing - ensuring service excellence, cost-effectiveness, and a strong customer experience. They will proactively seek opportunities to improve processes, resolve issues efficiently, and contribute to service enhancement by providing training, guidance, and constructive feedback.

About You

  • Strong escalation management skills, acting as a key liaison between the Service Desk and Infrastructure & Operations teams, while ensuring adherence to ITIL‑based standards.
  • Hands‑on experience with at least two of the following technologies:
    • Cloud platforms (e.g., Azure IaaS, Azure Virtual Desktop, Microsoft Entra ID)
    • Virtualisation technologies
    • Secure mobile endpoint management
    • Cybersecurity tools and practices
    • Networking solutions such as SIEM and SD‑WAN
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues across end user computing, network, and infrastructure services, including risk mitigation and implementation of known fixes or changes.
  • A collaborative approach to working with internal and external stakeholders to deliver high-quality IT services.
  • Demonstrated experience working effectively within a team environment, contributing to shared goals and continuous improvement.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts into clear, user-friendly language for colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Relevant ICT qualifications or equivalent professional experience.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development, with evidence of continuous learning and upskilling.

Key Details

  • Cloud Infrastructure and Security Analyst - permanent role
  • Salary is 38,587 per annum
  • Location: Predominantly office based at Gosforth or Stanley and attendance at other Karbon offices may be required. Working from home is available depending on business need. Regular travel will be required.
  • 37 hours per week with some homeworking available/flexible working.
  • Participation in the ICT on-call out of hours rota, one day per week between Mon-Fri 7am - 9pm.
