We are seeking a compassionate, experienced, and dedicated Senior Healthcare Assistant to join our team in delivering high-quality care in a care home setting. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting both residents and junior care staff, ensuring the well-being of those in our care, and leading by example. This position requires advanced healthcare knowledge, strong leadership skills, and a genuine passion for making a positive impact on the lives of individuals in need of care.
- Provide hands-on personal care to residents, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and assistance with daily living activities.
- Lead the implementation and monitoring of personalized care plans, ensuring each resident's needs are met and exceeded.
- Supervise and guide junior healthcare assistants, offering mentorship and support as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of care provided and report any changes in residents' conditions to senior staff and management.
- Facilitate social activities and provide companionship to enhance residents’ mental and emotional well-being.
- Ensure the cleanliness and safety of the living environment, adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and team members to ensure continuity of care and a collaborative approach to supporting residents.
- Act as a point of contact for residents’ families and provide regular updates on the care and progress of their loved ones.
Proven experience as a Healthcare Assistant in a care home or healthcare setting is required. Previous experience in a senior or supervisory role within the care sector is highly desirable. Strong understanding of care plans, healthcare protocols, and personal care techniques is essential. Proficiency in English, both written and verbal, is necessary to ensure effective communication with residents, families, and colleagues. A caring and empathetic attitude with a commitment to delivering high-quality care is expected. A valid driving license may be beneficial for roles requiring travel between locations.

Schedule: Monday to Friday + Weekend availability, Days and Nights
