Kara Healthcare is seeking an experienced Regional Support Manager to work alongside our Regional Manager, providing operational, clinical and quality support across a portfolio of more than six residential and nursing care homes throughout the North East. This is a highly visible role for an experienced nurse-qualified care leader who enjoys working across multiple services, supporting Home Managers, driving quality improvements and ensuring our residents receive outstanding care.

You will provide hands-on support to homes requiring additional leadership, guidance or operational focus, helping to maintain compliance, improve performance and deliver excellent outcomes for residents, families and colleagues.

Job Overview

As Regional Support Manager, you will support the Regional Manager in overseeing a group of care homes across the North East. You will work closely with Home Managers and leadership teams to strengthen operational performance, improve quality standards and ensure consistency across services. The role requires regular travel throughout the region and offers the opportunity to make a significant impact across multiple homes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Regional Manager with the operational oversight of a portfolio of more than six care homes.
  • Provide focused support to homes requiring additional operational, clinical or compliance assistance.
  • Work alongside Home Managers to drive improvements in quality, occupancy, staffing and overall performance.
  • Ensure services maintain compliance with CQC regulations and company standards.
  • Support homes through inspections, action plans and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Assist with the transition and integration of newly acquired services where required.
  • Identify areas of risk, concern or underperformance and develop practical improvement plans.
  • Analyse performance data, quality indicators and compliance metrics to identify trends and opportunities.
  • Coach, mentor and support Home Managers and senior leadership teams.
  • Promote best practice across the region and encourage continuous improvement.
  • Build strong relationships with residents, families, healthcare professionals and local stakeholders.
  • Support the delivery of safe, effective and person-centred care across all services.

About You

You will be a passionate and experienced care professional with a strong background in elderly nursing and dementia care. You will have a proven track record of supporting care home teams, improving services and maintaining high standards of quality and compliance. Requirements

  • Demonstrable experience as a Care Home Manager within elderly nursing and residential care services.
  • Previous experience supporting multiple care homes across a region.
  • Strong understanding of CQC regulations, governance and quality assurance frameworks.
  • Proven experience supporting homes to improve quality, compliance and operational performance.
  • Experience supervising, developing and coaching management teams.
  • Excellent leadership and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities across several locations.
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel extensively throughout the North East.

Desirable

  • NVQ Level 5 in Leadership and Management for Care or equivalent.
  • Experience supporting turnaround, stabilisation or service improvement programmes.
  • Experience supporting homes through acquisitions and integration processes.
  • Track record of contributing to Good and Outstanding CQC outcomes.
