Job Overview

This is a regional leadership role supporting residential and nursing homes caring for older people, including those living with dementia. You will provide interim management support, lead teams through periods of change, maintain high standards of care and compliance, and help drive strong operational performance across the homes you support. The role requires flexibility and regular travel throughout the North East region.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide interim leadership and management support across multiple care homes when required.
  • Ensure residents receive personalised, high-quality care that reflects their individual needs and preferences.
  • Maintain safe, compliant and well-managed care environments.
  • Lead, motivate and develop care home teams to deliver excellent outcomes.
  • Build trusted relationships with residents, families, colleagues, healthcare professionals and local communities.
  • Support homes to achieve strong operational performance, stability and continuity of care.
  • Drive compliance with CQC regulations and company policies.
  • Support homes through inspections, improvement plans and quality initiatives.
  • Monitor occupancy, staffing, budgets and key performance indicators.
  • Work collaboratively with central support teams to achieve positive outcomes for residents and colleagues.
  • Share best practice across the region and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.

About You

You are an experienced care home leader who is passionate about delivering outstanding care and supporting teams to succeed. You thrive in different environments, adapt quickly to changing circumstances and bring a calm, solutions-focused approach to every challenge. You will be confident in leading teams through periods of transition while maintaining high standards of care, compliance and resident experience.

Requirements

  • Previous Home Manager experience within elderly residential and nursing care services.
  • Experience managing and supporting at least two homes.
  • Strong operational and leadership experience within the care sector.
  • Proven experience as a CQC Registered Manager with Good and/or Outstanding rated services.
  • Excellent understanding of dementia care and nursing home operations.
  • Strong people leadership, coaching and team development skills.
  • Commercial awareness with experience managing budgets and performance.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel extensively across the North East region.
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.

Desirable

  • Level 5 Leadership and Management qualification or willingness to work towards it.
  • Experience supporting homes through turnaround, improvement or change programmes.
  • Knowledge of wider healthcare and social care commissioning environments.
