We are seeking a highly experienced and dedicated Operations Director to oversee and manage the operational performance, quality, and strategic growth of our care services. This critical leadership role requires a passionate individual with a proven track record in the care sector, strong business acumen, and an unwavering commitment to delivering outstanding person-centred care. The Director will ensure compliance with all regulatory standards, optimise operational efficiencies, and lead a culture of continuous improvement across all care locations/services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement the operational strategy for care services, aligning with the organisation's mission and long-term goals.
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of all care facilities/services to ensure efficiency, high occupancy/service utilisation, and effective resource management.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to care quality, financial performance, regulatory compliance, and resident/service user satisfaction.

Quality, Safety & Compliance:

  • Ensure all services meet or exceed regulatory requirements (e.g., CQC, Care Inspectorate, etc.) and internal quality standards.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor robust quality assurance processes, clinical governance, and risk management frameworks.
  • Lead the preparation and response to regulatory inspections, aiming for the highest possible ratings.

Financial Management & Growth:

  • Identify opportunities for strategic growth, expansion, and service development to meet community needs and organisational objectives.
  • Analyse financial data and operational metrics to make informed decisions that improve profitability and sustainability.
  • Oversee workforce planning, recruitment, retention, training, and professional development for care staff and management.
  • Ensure effective performance management and adherence to HR policies and employment law.

In-depth knowledge of relevant care legislation, quality standards, and regulatory frameworks (e.g., CQC Fundamental Standards). Proven ability to manage significant budgets and drive commercial success. Nursing, Social Work, Health/Care Management or a degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Management, or a related field. High degree of commercial awareness and business acumen.
