Are you a qualified or part-qualified accountant who enjoys working with numbers but also wants to understand the bigger picture?

Do you take pride in getting the detail right, enjoy solving problems, and want to play an important role in the growth of a successful healthcare organisation?

At Kara Healthcare, we're looking for an organised, commercially minded, and approachable Management Accountant to join our team at our Head Office in Leicester.

This is an exciting opportunity to become an important part of our finance function, supporting the wider business with accurate financial information, meaningful reporting, and insight that helps us make better decisions.

About Kara Healthcare

At Kara Healthcare, we provide high-quality dementia, nursing, residential, and respite care.

As we continue to grow, having a strong and well-organised finance function is incredibly important. We're looking for someone who can help us understand our financial performance, keep things running smoothly, and work closely with our teams across the organisation.

You'll be joining a growing business where your work will have a direct impact and where you'll have the opportunity to develop your skills and take ownership of your role.

What You'll Be Doing

As Management Accountant, you'll work closely with the Finance and Senior Leadership teams to provide accurate financial information and support the day-to-day running of the business.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing monthly management accounts and financial reports.
  • Supporting month-end and year-end processes.
  • Producing detailed analysis of income, expenditure, and financial performance.
  • Preparing budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis.
  • Investigating significant variances and working with teams to understand the reasons behind them.
  • Supporting the preparation and monitoring of budgets across our care homes and departments.
  • Providing financial information and insight to managers and senior leadership.
  • Assisting with cash flow forecasting and financial planning.
  • Supporting the accounts payable and accounts receivable processes where required.
  • Ensuring financial records are accurate, complete, and maintained appropriately.
  • Reconciling balance sheet accounts and investigating discrepancies.
  • Supporting audit processes and providing information when required.
  • Helping to improve financial processes, systems, and reporting.
  • Working with operational teams to help them understand and manage their financial performance.
  • Providing ad-hoc financial analysis and support to the wider business.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and financial performance.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who is confident with numbers, pays attention to detail, and can explain financial information clearly to people who aren't accountants.

You'll ideally have:

  • Experience working in a management accounting or similar finance role.
  • A relevant accounting qualification or be actively working towards one, such as ACCA, CIMA, or ACA.
  • Strong understanding of management accounts and financial reporting.
  • Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
  • Excellent Excel skills and confidence working with financial data.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • The ability to manage deadlines and prioritise your workload.
  • Good communication skills and the confidence to work with colleagues across different areas of the business.
  • A practical and commercially minded approach.
  • The ability to work independently while also being part of a wider finance team.

Experience within healthcare, social care, or another multi-site organisation would be advantageous but is not essential.

Why Join Kara Healthcare?

At Kara Healthcare, we understand that finance isn't just about numbers. Good financial management helps us make better decisions, invest in our services, support our teams, and ultimately provide better care.

You'll have the opportunity to work closely with colleagues across the organisation and gain a real understanding of how a growing healthcare business operates.

We're looking for someone who wants to make the role their own and develop alongside the business.

In Return, We Offer:

  • A supportive and friendly working environment
  • The opportunity to work within a growing healthcare organisation
  • Professional development and training opportunities
  • Opportunities for career progression
  • Exposure to a wide range of financial and commercial activities
  • The opportunity to work closely with senior leadership
  • A varied role with genuine responsibility and ownership
  • The chance to make a meaningful contribution to the continued growth of Kara Healthcare

At Kara Healthcare, we're always looking for talented people to join our team. We believe every colleague plays an important role in our success, and we're committed to creating an environment where people can develop, contribute, and make a real difference.
