Your duties

As Procurement Manager, you will be responsible for developing and implementing procurement strategies that support the operational and financial objectives of Kara Healthcare.

You will work closely with key stakeholders across the organisation to ensure value for money, supply continuity and quality standards are consistently achieved.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement procurement and sourcing strategies across multiple categories.
  • Lead supplier negotiations to achieve best value, service quality and contractual terms.
  • Identify and deliver sustainable cost-saving opportunities without compromising resident care.
  • Manage procurement budgets and monitor expenditure against targets.
  • Conduct spend analysis and provide detailed reporting to support decision-making.
  • Lead tender processes and contract renewals in line with business requirements.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Monitor supplier performance and manage service level agreements.
  • Identify and mitigate procurement, supplier and supply chain risks.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives across procurement processes and systems.
  • Ensure procurement activities comply with relevant legislation, policies and best practices.

  • Proven experience in a Procurement Manager or Senior Procurement role.
  • Strong strategic procurement and sourcing expertise.
  • Demonstrable success in contract negotiation and supplier management.

  • Advanced spend analysis and reporting capabilities.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills.
  • Tendering and contract management experience.
  • Risk management and supply chain management expertise.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Experience driving change and continuous improvement.
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience using procurement systems.
  • Experience within elderly care, healthcare or social care environments is desirable.
