Job Overview
We are seeking a proactive and relationship-driven Referral & Partnership Manager to support the growth of Kara Healthcare by developing and maintaining strong referral pathways and strategic partnerships. This role will be based partly in our head office and partly across our care homes working closely with operational teams, local authorities, NHS partners, hospitals, social workers, and community stakeholders. The successful candidate will play a key role in increasing occupancy, strengthening external relationships, and promoting Kara Healthcare as a trusted care provider.
Skills & Responsibilities
- Develop, manage, and grow referral pathways with local authorities, NHS services, hospitals, discharge teams, social workers, and private referrers.
- Build and maintain strong partnerships across the healthcare and social care sector to support sustainable occupancy levels.
- Act as a key point of contact for all referrals, ensuring a professional, timely, and person-centred referral journey.
- Work closely with Registered Managers and operational teams across homes to understand capacity, care needs, and placement suitability.
- Promote Kara Healthcare services through regular visits, meetings, networking events, and community engagement.
- Track, analyse, and report on referral activity, conversion rates, and partnership performance.
- Support marketing and business development initiatives aligned with organisational growth plans.
- Ensure all referral processes comply with CQC standards, safeguarding requirements, and internal policies.
Requirements
- Proven experience in referrals, partnerships, business development, or relationship management within health or social care.
- Strong understanding of the care sector, including elderly, dementia, nursing, and residential care services.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and credibility with stakeholders.
- Confident working both in an office environment and across multiple care home settings.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple relationships and priorities effectively.
- Results-driven, proactive, and able to work independently as well as collaboratively.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel between sites (preferred).
- Health or social care referrals/business development: 2+ years (preferred).
