Job Overview

The Clinical Lead will play a key role in driving clinical excellence, ensuring safe practice, and maintaining the highest standards of care within the home. This is a dual-role position comprising 3 days supernumerary in a Clinical Lead capacity and 2 days working on shift as a Registered Nurse. Working closely with the Home Manager, you will support strong clinical governance, quality assurance, and continuous improvement aligned with CQC and Local Authority standards. This is an ideal opportunity for a senior nurse who is passionate about leadership, compliance, and delivering high-quality, person-centred care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee medication management systems, ensuring safe, effective, and compliant practice
  • Drive high standards in wound care, clinical documentation, and care planning
  • Oversee Accident and Incident reporting, investigations, and ensure learning outcomes are embedded into practice
  • Ensure full compliance with CQC and Local Authority regulatory frameworks
  • Provide clinical supervision, guidance, and performance support to nursing and care teams
  • Lead mentoring, coaching, and development of staff to build capability and confidence
  • Promote a culture of accountability, governance, and continuous improvement
  • Support audits, inspections, and the delivery of quality improvement action plans
  • Act as a visible clinical role model while working on shift

About You

  • NMC Registered Nurse with an active PIN
  • Experienced in a senior nursing or clinical leadership role within a care home setting
  • Strong knowledge of CQC standards and Local Authority compliance requirements
  • Confident leading medication governance, wound care, and clinical audits
  • Passionate about developing others through mentoring and coaching
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills
  • Committed to delivering safe, effective, and person-centred care

Requirements

  • Active NMC registration
  • Proven experience managing medication systems and clinical governance
  • Experience reviewing and improving Accident and Incident processes
  • Strong leadership and team management capability
  • Experience supporting inspections and driving quality improvements
  • Ability to work both supernumerary and on shift as required
