- Company Overview
Kappture develops point-of-sale, payments and hospitality technology for high-volume environments, including stadiums, arenas, universities and major event venues.
Our platform supports the complete customer transaction journey across physical point of sale, mobile ordering, fulfilment, payments, loyalty, reporting and integrations with third-party systems.
Kappture's web products are used by operators and enterprise customers to configure, manage and understand complex hospitality operations.
Reliability, usability and maintainability are essential: the software must remain straightforward to operate while handling significant volumes, complex configuration and demanding live-event conditions.
We are continuing to modernise our product suite and engineering practices, including the responsible use of AIassisted development tools to improve delivery speed and software quality.
Role Purpose
We believe software engineering is undergoing its most significant transformation in decades.
Kappture is rebuilding its software-development lifecycle around AI, automation and agentic engineering.
We are seeking a Senior Full Stack Engineer who will help define what modern software development looks like at Kappture; not simply by using AI tools, but by building the standards, tooling, agents and workflows that enable teams to deliver software faster, more safely and at higher quality.
This is a senior hands-on role spanning React, Type Script, C#/.
NET, REST APIs, databases and cloud-hosted services.
You will deliver production software while helping architect and implement Kappture’s AI-native softwaredevelopment lifecycle.
You will work with Engineering, Product, QA, Platform and architecture colleagues to turn AI-assisted development from individual tool usage into a governed, measurable and repeatable engineering capability.
This is not an AI research or data-science role.
It is a software-engineering role for someone who understands the full delivery stack and can apply AI effectively across the software-development lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- AI-Native Software Development
- Help design and implement Kappture’s AI-native software-development lifecycle across requirements, design, implementation, testing, review, deployment and production support.
- Move beyond individual use of coding assistants by building repeatable, governed workflows that can be adopted safely across engineering teams.
- Define practical engineering standards for AI-generated code, tests, documentation, technical designs and pull-request contributions.
- Establish prompt, context and specification standards that improve the quality and consistency of AIassisted engineering outputs.
- Design and develop bounded engineering agents for activities such as requirements analysis, code generation, test creation, documentation and release validation.
- Implement or integrate Model Context Protocol servers and clients to connect agents with approved engineering tools and data sources.
- Build developer tooling that connects AI capabilities with source control, CI/CD, testing, documentation and observability systems.
- Define evaluation frameworks and quality gates for AI-generated outputs before workflows are adopted at team scale.
- Establish engineering productivity metrics such as lead time, test coverage, escaped defects, rework and review effort, and use them to assess whether AI-enabled practices create measurable value.
- Define proportionate governance, security, data-handling and human-approval controls for AI-assisted development.
- Evaluate models and tools based on task suitability, accuracy, privacy, cost, latency and vendor dependency.
- Coach engineers in adopting effective AI-native development practices while maintaining human accountability for architecture, quality and release decisions.
- Product Development and Ownership
- Design, develop, test and maintain high-quality applications across React and Type Script frontends, C#/. NET services, REST APIs and relational databases.
- Take technical ownership of significant product features from initial refinement through implementation, testing, release and production support.
- Work with Product and Design to translate user requirements into clear, usable and technically sustainable solutions.
- Review requirements and specifications, identifying ambiguity, delivery risk and opportunities to simplify the solution.
- Break complex work into deliverable increments and provide credible technical estimates.
- Ensure solutions are appropriate for high-volume hospitality and event environments where operational simplicity and reliability are critical.
- Support the investigation and resolution of production issues within areas owned by the team.
- Application Architecture and Engineering Quality
- Contribute to the architecture and ongoing evolution of Kappture’s React and Type Script applications and C#/. NET services.
- Design maintainable boundaries between user interfaces, APIs, application services and data stores.
- Promote reusable components, consistent service patterns and clear separation of responsibilities.
- Improve application performance, accessibility, resilience, observability and supportability.
- Address technical debt pragmatically alongside product delivery.
- Contribute technical design documentation and Architecture Decision Records where appropriate.
- API and Platform Integration
- Design, develop and support C#/. NET application services, APIs and background processes.
- Design RESTful APIs with clear contracts, validation, authentication, authorisation, versioning and error handling.
- Integrate React and Type Script applications with Kappture services and third-party APIs.
- Diagnose application behaviour across frontend, API, service and database boundaries.
- Ensure services are observable, supportable and resilient under production workloads.
- Understand the wider transaction and configuration flows across Kappture’s terminals, services, reporting systems and third-party integrations.
- Support integrations with payment providers, loyalty platforms, ticketing systems and other enterprise services.
- Testing and Delivery
- Develop unit, component, integration and end-to-end automated tests.
- Participate in pull-request reviews and ensure code meets agreed quality, security and maintainability standards.
- Support CI/CD pipelines and improve the reliability of application build, test and deployment processes across frontend and backend services.
- Deliver changes incrementally and safely, using feature controls or other deployment strategies where appropriate.
- Change and Engineering Acceleration
- Identify and lead practical improvements to engineering practices, tooling and delivery workflows.
- Challenge existing patterns constructively where they limit delivery speed, product quality or maintainability.
- Modernise established applications through incremental, evidence-based change rather than unnecessary rewrites.
- Automate repetitive implementation, testing, documentation and validation activities.
- Improve developer feedback loops across local development, code review, testing and deployment.
- Measure the impact of improvements using lead time, quality, reliability and productivity indicators.
- Technical Leadership and Collaboration
- Provide technical guidance and constructive code-review feedback to other engineers.
- Support the development of colleagues through mentoring, pairing and constructive feedback, helping to raise standards across the team.
- Participate actively in refinement, planning, technical design and engineering improvement activities.
- Communicate technical decisions and risks clearly to engineering, Product and non-technical stakeholders.
- Take ownership of problems and follow them through to a clear outcome.
