We are looking for a Group Payroll Manager to join our team.

As our first ever Group Payroll Manager, you’ll bring our two UK payroll teams under shared leadership for the first time. You’ll be more hands-on for the Kaplan International side, where you’re replacing an outgoing Payroll Manager, and less so for the Kaplan Professional UK side where we have a long serving Payroll Manager in place. As well as making sure everybody continues to be paid correctly and on-time every month, you’ll create a cohesive payroll team that learns from each other’s best practices. A key focus will be developing, improving and operating controls and leading projects such as process improvements as well as the on-boarding of additional Kaplan operations in the UK and beyond onto our payroll system and/or processes and controls.

In this role, you will:

  • Combine two teams of two into one team of four.
  • Oversee a payroll operation that is responsible for around 3000-3500 payslips every month in the UK.
  • Play a key role in managing Kaplan's relationship with ADP.
  • Manage one or more of our payroll’s personally, helping to share the workload around the team.
  • Oversee smaller international payrolls in Ireland, UAE, Saudi Arabia and Portugal, working with external partners as required.

This is an excellent opportunity for an exceptional Payroll Manager who is confident managing multi country payrolls and who is looking to expand to build their career with an industry leader.

What you’ll bring to the role

You’ll be an experienced payroll professional with a proven track record of effective payroll management across multiple payrolls, and delivery of successful projects/improvements.

Specific experience and skills will include:

  • ADP iHCM payroll system (desirable)
  • Workday HR system (desirable)
  • Onboarding new businesses to a group payroll
  • Accounting skills e.g., reconciliations and GL function within payroll system (desirable)
  • Experience of automating data input/uploading data
  • Strong numeracy skills and technology skills
  • Excellent knowledge of HMRC rules and guidelines
  • International payrolls
  • Relevant payroll qualification (desirable)
  • Experience of working in a SOx environment (desirable)
