We are looking for a Mathematics & Information Technology Tutor to join our team. As a Tutor, you will deliver engaging and effective teaching to international students preparing for undergraduate and postgraduate study at the University of Nottingham. You will play a key role in supporting students to achieve their academic goals, develop subject knowledge, and build the skills required for success in higher education.

We are looking for a passionate educator with expertise in one or more areas: Mathematics and Information Technology (IT), and a commitment to providing an outstanding student experience. The successful candidate will be able to deliver high-quality teaching, create a positive and inclusive learning environment, and contribute to the continuous enhancement of the curriculum. What you’ll bring to the role:

  • A student-centred approach and the ability to plan, facilitate and review engaging learning experiences that enable all students to achieve and flourish.
  • Empathy and understanding of the needs of international students in transition to studying Higher Education in the UK.
  • The ability to work collaboratively with colleagues across a range of teams and to use data to continually improve the student experience.
  • Demonstrable experience of using digital technologies, including AI, to enhance learning, assessment and student engagement, together with a willingness to embrace innovation.
  • Flexibility and resilience to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage competing priorities.
  • The ability to develop and continually enhance innovative learning materials that support active, inclusive and engaging learning.
  • A strong commitment to continuous professional development and evidence of using this to enhance teaching practice and the student experience.
  • Experience of teaching post-16 students (a recognised teaching qualification would be an advantage).
  • A postgraduate qualification is desirable; however, a strong first degree and/or relevant professional experience will also be considered.
