We are looking for a Senior Financial Accountant to join our team. We are looking for a confident, technically strong, highly organised accountant to take ownership of the accounting and compliance requirements for our overseas sales offices. This role offers significant variety and autonomy, working across multiple geographies including India, Nigeria, Dubai and Saudi Arabia and any new or emerging sales office locations. You will develop a deep understanding of how these offices operate, ensure accurate and timely financial reporting both for local, UK and US reporting requirements and you will drive the maturing financial controls appropriate to each local environment.

The role requires excellent cross-cultural communication skills and the ability to work effectively with colleagues, advisers and stakeholders across different countries and time zones. As many overseas offices rely on external local support you will frequently need to deliver outcomes through others building strong working relationships and influencing processes to ensure accuracy, compliance and timely information.

You will have line management responsibilities for our junior team member located in our New Delhi office - providing guidance, development and oversight of their work. This role is well suited to a qualified ACA/ACCA with strong technical skills who enjoys a broad, international remit and variety in their work.

What you’ll bring to the role:

  • Be a qualified accountant with a recognised institute (CCAB or equivalent).
  • Have experience in an accounting role, ideally with exposure to international entities or multi-jurisdiction environments.
  • Be a technically strong accountant, who has experience with complex accounting (e.g. group accounts, or working across multiple accounting frameworks, such as US GAAP, UK GAAP, IFRS).
  • Be a critical thinker, with high attention to detail, a good ability to self-review, and be able to work with accuracy when under pressure.
  • Have a pro-active approach to managing a varied workload across multiple time zones.
  • Have strong Excel skills (working knowledge of pivot tables, vlookup/xlookup is essential).
  • Be interested in process improvement/process automation.
  • Have strong influencing skills, with the ability to ensure local teams and external advisers deliver accurate and timely information.
  • Be a clear and confident communicator with excellent written and verbal skills for cross-cultural communication and adapt your style to suit different audiences across countries and time zones.
  • Preferably have previous experience within large, complex international organisations or an accounting practice background.
  • Be willing and able to take on line management responsibilities once established in the role.
