Kaplan Open Learning works in partnership with two world-class UK universities, the University of Essex and the University of Liverpool, and we are currently seeking a Head of Digital Learning for each of our partnerships to lead the development and delivery of our online learning.

The Head of Digital Learning plays a key role in driving the development and delivery of our online learning environment, with a strong emphasis on innovation and the implementation of progressive solutions that improve both educational outcomes and operational processes.

What you’ll bring to the role

  • Proven ability to lead and motivate teams, encouraging a collaborative and positive environment.
  • Ability to navigate and address the commercial aspects of the higher education sector, ensuring alignment between academic and business objectives.
  • A strong understanding of VLEs (e.g., Moodle, Blackboard) and their management.
  • Proficient in web development technologies such as HTML, CSS, and skilled in using digital learning tools and platforms.
  • Experienced in automation solutions, including Microsoft Power Automate and UiPath, to streamline and enhance workflow efficiency.
  • Experience with project management methodologies and tools (e.g., Agile, Scrum, Trello, or similar).
  • Experience integrating AI tools into educational platforms and instructional design workflows.

We currently work with two UK partner Universities to deliver undergraduate and postgraduate degree programmes. Our students complete their studies through online learning using our interactive virtual classroom with rich multi-media resources which provide a gateway to a learning community supported by a dedicated academic and professional services team.
