Field Service Engineer – Automated Packaging Machinery

I am currently looking for a Field Service Engineer to provide maintenance across a range of packaging and automated machinery/equipment in terms of mechanical/electrical service and upgrade work.
Adhering to the required quality and health & safety standards within the allocated time, you will be required to:
- Respond to emergency breakdowns and return customers back to production by means of fault finding and carrying out repairs to packaging machinery.
- Attend customer sites to carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) to packaging machinery, pallet/product handling conveyors, and robotic systems – primarily ABB/Fanuc.
- Provide hands-on mechanical/electrical engineering field support for the full range of EMEA equipment.
- Ensure that health & safety rules are adhered to and that best working practices are used at all times.
- Ensure that the correct tools and equipment are used for the job.
- When required, supervise other engineers on site.
- The role focuses on all aspects of customer support through general service visits, equipment refurbishments, re-builds and upgrades, relocation of customers’ existing equipment, and customer training on all company equipment.
You will be an experienced Multi-Skilled Engineer with a strong electrical bias. Evidence of this electrical bias will include the following:
- Ability to install and programme an inverter on a three-phase induction motor.
- Ability to read and fault find on an electrical system.
You will be able to fault find on PLCs, including the ability to change ladder logic – PLCs predominantly used on site. You will also have good knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics, with strong diagnostic skills and be proactive in your approach.
