KAP Technical\\n\\nNorthampton\\n\\nJob Title: Design Engineer\\n\\nJob Purpose:\\n\\nThe Design Engineer is responsible for providing high-quality 2D and 3D drafting services for company products using SolidWorks 3D design software.\\n\\nKey Responsibilities:\\n\\nDesign & Drafting\\n\\n * Ensure all drawings meet quality standards, maintain consistency, and comply with relevant directives.\\n\\n * Create detailed manufacturing drawings from 3D models in SolidWorks, including:\\n\\n * Fabrication Drawings – Steel fabrications.\\n\\n * Assembly Drawings – Including Bills of Materials (BOMs).\\n\\n * Develop and manage BOMs within the company’s ERP system (Jobscope).\\n\\n * Maintain an up-to-date drawings/parts database, ensuring all revisions are current.\\n\\n * Collaborate closely with the manufacturing, engineering, and sales teams to ensure product designs align with business requirements.\\n\\n * Take a hands-on, proactive approach to problem-solving and project execution.\\n\\nAdministrative Duties\\n\\n * Prepare and issue BOMs and technical drawings as required.\\n\\n * Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with company policies.\\n\\n * Adhere to quality assurance procedures and contribute to process improvements.\\n\\n * Ensure compliance with the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974, maintaining a safe and clean work environment.\\n\\n * Undertake additional tasks as required within the scope of the role.\\n\\nKey Skills & Attributes\\n\\n * Creative and innovative thinker.\\n\\n * Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.\\n\\n * Flexible, reliable, and team-oriented.\\n\\n * Effective communicator, both written and verbal.\\n\\nQualifications & Experience\\n\\n * Proven experience as a Draughtsman or Design Engineer in a related industry.\\n\\n * Background in steelwork fabrication.\\n\\n * HNC or equivalent qualification in mechanical or manufacturing engineering.\\n\\n * Proficiency in IT systems, including SolidWorks and AutoCAD.\\n\\nFor More Info Please Click Apply Today
