A KAP Technical client is seeking an experienced CNC Setter/Operator to join their busy and well-established machine shop, producing complex, high-quality components.
The Role
This is a hands-on position working with Haas CNC mills and lathes using Fanuc control systems. You’ll be involved in manufacturing complex components in low volumes, where attention to detail and quality are essential. This role also offers the opportunity to develop your skills and grow within the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Set and operate Haas CNC mills and lathes
- Edit and adjust CNC programs as required
- Machine components from aluminium, plastics, and various grades of steel
- Read and interpret technical engineering drawings
- Carry out in-process inspections to ensure quality standards are met
- Work efficiently in a fast-paced environment producing complex, low-volume parts
Requirements
- Minimum 6 years’ experience in a machine shop environment
- Strong experience in CNC setting and operating
- Solid understanding of CNC programming fundamentals
- Experience using Fanuc control systems
- High level of attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Ability to confidently read and interpret engineering drawings
- Reliable, proactive, and strong problem-solving skills
Pay, Hours & Benefits
- Salary: £26,000–£28,000 per year (depending on experience)
- Attendance Bonus: Up to £1,800 per year
- Hours:
- Monday–Thursday: 8:00am–5:00pm
- Friday: 8:00am–1:00pm (early finish)
- Breaks: 30-minute lunch plus two short breaks
- Contract: Permanent position with a well-established company
